Panasonic Lumix GH6 review: Worth the wait February 22, 2022by Martin 6 Panasonic has supported the Micro Four Thirds format for many years, increasing its potential and focusing more on providing high-quality videography tools for quality enthusiasts. And its Lumix GH series has long been at the top of that stack. Back in 2014 the Lumix GH4 was a defining moment in the history of 4K video recording, bringing the Ultra-HD format to a new audience. It was followed by the more advanced Lumix GH5 in 2017, which then spawned a Mark II series in 2020. For 2022 and beyond it's all about the next generation: the Lumix GH6. This camera is really about videography, combining some serious shooting features with a very competitive price. But does it mean more that the GH5 M2 was released a while ago? In a word: yes.

The hand grip is much larger in the front and gives you something more important to hold when shooting handheld.
This is partly because the battery compartment is rotated 90 degrees, so the battery is not inside the main body of the camera, but in the grip. It is covered with non-slip and non-slip material. Another new feature is air ventilation, as there is a fan inside to keep the GH6's sensor cool for unlimited recording. A fan is located on the left side of the camera, between the monitor ring and the connection ports. The other is visible under the back panel of the monitor, next to the numbers and function buttons on the back of the camera. Panasonic tells us that this air-cooled system was designed to keep the camera size even larger. Not that it's a huge camera, but it's bigger than its predecessor. The GH6's body is also splash and dust resistant, feels really sturdy and should be capable of field work. Anyone who has used a Lumix before will also immediately recognize the butto
